Full Day Nature Experience
Our full day NaturesGems tours start at 9am and finish around 4pm. On average we will cover 6 miles (10km) with plenty of stops for photos, wildlife watching and lunch.
These tours take in two special places and require a bit more stamina than our 1/2 days. You will use your own vehicle to move the short distances in between sites (group transport is not provided at this time). We currently use Trowbarrow, Gaitbarrows, Leighton Moss, Whitbarrow Scar, Foulshaw Moss, South Walney and Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve for our full day tours (note Walney and Sandscale are a bit further afield on the Furness peninsula). Whitbarrow and Foulshaw offer a juxtaposition of peat bog and limestone escarpment with a contrasting range of unique plants and wildlife. Walney and Sandscale are coastal sand dune sites with an abundance of specialised plants and wildflowers, as well as hosting unique populations of sea birds and grey seals. Sites will be selected depending on time of year, what there is to see and weather conditions.
We can arrange full day tours for groups of 2 or more. Please contact us to arrange a date before booking.
Upon booking you will receive an email with confirmation of your booking, general information about what to bring etc, along with contact details for your tour leader. Check out the Experiences page for more details.
5 days before your tour you will receive details of the designated meeting point and confirmed timings. This means we can be flexible to offer you the best possible experience.
Price is per person and includes a vegetarian picnic lunch of tasty wholesome local produce.
